This is an introduction to hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom.

Rigid-heddle looms are small, easy to store, and simple to set up.

While the word "rigid" might suggest limited options, this loom style allows for versatile patterns and techniques.

In this workshop you will learn how to select your weaving materials, warp the loom and weave a lovely runner or scarf in your chosen colours, all in one day. 

You will also learn:-

Basic weaving terminology
Yarn selection
Prepare a warp using the direct warping method
Warp the loom
Weave your cloth

 

What's included in the price?

Use of a rigid heddle loom is included and all weaving materials are included.  By the end of the course you will have proudly woven your very own fabric suitable for use as a table runner or scarf.

Tea and coffee, pastries and refreshments, are provided on each day. Please bring your own lunch. A microwave and a fridge is available. We also have an excellent farm shop half a mile away which has delicious snacks!
